Shannon Lake

Creative/Art Director, Graphic Designer and Marcomm Specialist

In her 15 years of developing brands and designing marketing communications, Shannon’s technical experience, high-end creative and strategic thinking has helped many clients gain the attention their hard work deserves. During her career she has delivered award-winning creative while working for D&GG Advertising and FSC Marketing Communications, both Pittsburgh agencies. Her contributions while in Pittsburgh included national, international and regional clients, such as Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Port Authority of Allegheny County, Heinz, Seven Springs Mountain Resort, W.W. HENRY Flooring Adhesives, Federated Investors, Oliverio Italian Foods, PPG Industries, Sharon Regional Hospital, Pitt-Ohio Express, Calgon Carbon Corporation, PA CareerLink, Super Donut and Kennywood Park.

After moving to State College in 2003, Shannon’s “home” for over 5 years was Impressions WHQ, a State College marketing communications and exhibit display firm. At Impressions, Shannon acted as Senior Art Director/Designer on all projects, designing and strategically developing identities, brand/ad campaigns, printed collateral, websites, direct mail, trade show and event displays, signage and packaging for various genres of business. Her contributions while at Impressions included Glenn O. Hawbaker, the American Philatelic Society, m2t Technologies, Moon Brother’s Landscaping, Smith Transport and the Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center. Most notably, she led several rebranding efforts for the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County, the Original Waffle Shop, Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors Bureau, Granville Plastic Pallets and Blatek Ultrasonic Transducers.

In 2008, Shannon dove into developing her own business, Lake Creative Communications LLC, as a means to continue to feverishly do what she loves, but gain a small element of flexibility for her family. Working on projects with Minitab, Inc., Penn State Athletics, Tait Farm Foods, HT Marketing Solutions and Grove Park, as well as offering creative services to other local creative firms like Loaded Creative (with clients like Fullington Motorcoach, Bonfatto's Wing Sauce & Marinade, the Downtown Improvement District, Brix Luxury Lofts, Keystone Dermatology & Center for Skin Surgery, InfoLaunch, and Tom O’Connor for Mayor). Shannon’s even worked occasionally for her previous employer, Impressions.

In addition to the business-to-business and business-to-consumer projects, Lake Creative Communications also provided the creative direction and campaign deliverables for the Michele Bononi for Judge campaign in Westmoreland County, which helped her beat the odds and placed Michele, a Republican, into a historically 2:1 Dem/Rep constituency. A big win, since this was her third attempt at the seat.

Shannon is a Penn State University graduate from the School of Arts and Architecture, who continued her education in graphic design at Baylor University in Texas. She is happily married to a super smart and funny fella, has an adorable, fashionista of a five year old, hates laundry, loves to eat out, exercises as much as she can, and totally loves a good, hoppy mircro-brew.
